Jeb Bush had to explain his statement last year that illegal immigration was an “act of love” during Thursday night’s Republican debate.

He said he believed most people who came to the country illegally had no other option, but said he does want to try to gain control of the border, and called sanctuary cities “ridiculous and tragic” — though he also defended his call for legalizing most illegal immigrants already here.

Text.normal: “There should be a path to earned legal status for those that are here — not amnesty, earned legal status,” he said.
