The Delta Saints
“Bones”
Loud & Proud Records
An off-kilter sound comes courtesy of the alt band The Delta Saints out of Nashville. No traditional Cash country inheritors here, rather the Dixie lads fuse electronic, alternative and experimental sounds into a unique pastiche of groove music. The titular track offers a great groove-fest, while “Dust” offers up a kind of bad-boy alt-country vibeology. Harmonics and deep thoughts pervade on “My Love,” while “Zydeco” offers an out-of-this-world sonic experience. The Delta Saints prove that there are far more shades to the Music City sound beyond the likes of George Jones and Dolly Parton.
The Saints will be appearing in the District Thursday at DC9.
