As we witnessed President Obama desperately flailing for some kind of an agreement with the Iranians, we were reminded once again of the prime motivating force common to all of Mr. Obama’s machinations: an anxiousness to construct some kind of notable legacy at the eleventh hour of his tenure.

How typical that America will be hung out to dry once again by the man whose ego brought us Solyndra and that failed firm’s pie-in-the sky ilk, billions of wasted “stimulus” dollars, the Affordable Care Act (having nothing to do with affordability), Benghazi and its attendant loss of life, the callous wasting of American blood and treasure by a precipitant withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan, the flaccid response to the Islamic State, personal disdain for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and meddling in the recent Israeli elections.

Endangering our nation by elevating his legacy to a national priority is not only pathetic, but it is also criminal. Given this litany of disasters (a complete list would require more space) one has to wonder why Mr. Obama has avoided even the whiff of impeachment. Recalling the acts that led to the 1974 impeachment and resignation of Richard Nixon, whose dirty deeds amount to tinker toys when compared with this administration’s felonious behavior, it is remarkable how immune Mr. Obama and his minions remain to confrontation and legal accountability.

One can argue that the president’s page in history has already been written by his own pen. Despite his best efforts, Mr. Obama’s legacy will be that of a decidedly selfish, divisive and impotent president. His chronicle of failure will serve as a warning to future presidential hopefuls who eloquently talk the talk but fail spectacularly to walk the walk. How disastrous for our great nation.
