OPINION:
Those who will vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton for president in 2016 are the same who voted twice for the current White House resident. That Mrs. Clinton is even on the political scene for consideration of the top position in our federal government says much of the present condition of politics and the electorate. If we are to succeed in righting the ship it will come down to us, the American people.
Those clamoring for the “first” — as in, black or woman president — demean the office and downgrade the seriousness of the election to the level of a television game-show contest, with the future thus also requiring a silly but logical trend of first homosexual president, first lesbian president, first transgender president and so on.
For our country to be seen as an embarrassment in the eyes of the world is an issue to consider, especially after the past half-dozen years. To allow us to go further down the road away from our founding principles is another issue to consider, especially for the serious and informed American.
