The “leaked” video circulated by numerous media outlets this week purporting to show Dennis Quaid having an on-set meltdown was officially a prank by Funny or Die.
The comedy website claimed responsibility for the video Wednesday and released a full cut showing the expletive-filled tirade with additional context, Time magazine reported.
The initial video, uploaded Friday to YouTube, appeared to be taken with a cellphone on what looked to be a film set.
“This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on,” Mr. Quaid says in the video before storming off the set. “This is horse s—-!”
In the full video, Mr. Quaid screams that last comment after stepping in literal horse manure.
Viewers had previously speculated that the video might be a hoax. Many thought Jimmy Kimmel was behind it, causing the late-night TV host to address the rumors on his show Tuesday night.
