Former Secretary of State and newly announced presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is scheduled to be in the early presidential state of Iowa this week — and is traveling there by van.

“Road trip! Loaded the van & set off for IA. Met a great family when we stopped this afternoon. Many more to come. -H,” Mrs. Clinton tweeted Sunday.

Planned stops on her trip to the Hawkeye State include roundtables with students, educators and businesspeople as Mrs. Clinton, the overwhelming favorite to win the 2016 Democratic nomination, tries to lay the groundwork with individual voters in the state.

During her last run at the White House in 2008, Mrs. Clinton finished third in the Iowa caucuses behind President Obama, then a U.S. senator, and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina.
