GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — Highway projects worth more than $78 million are underway in six South Mississippi counties, including work in D’Iberville that will stop traffic on I-10 westbound at least two nights this month.

The I-10 work is part of bridge replacements on both I-10 and I-110 designed to make it easier for driving around an increasingly congested retail area near the interstate. MDOT also awarded Harrison County a grant of up to $500,000 to spruce up the “gateway” to Biloxi at the south end of I-110. That work has yet to be scheduled.

The state says other projects are on U.S. Highway 49, Mississippi 26 and Mississippi 607.
