OPINION:
In light of the growing number of fights on airlines over reclining seats, the airlines can sit back and blame the person behind the seat — but what do they expect? As they reduce the legroom but do nothing about the person who is reclining the seat, there will be more fights (“Recline rancor: Passenger recalls seat dispute,” Web, Sept. 3).
I’m 6-foot-4 and weigh 230 pounds. As the seats get smaller, now with seven inches of legroom, it gets worse and worse for me. When someone sits down and slams the seat back on me, I have to control my anger. I will not recline my seat because I feel for the person behind me. But I don’t get that respect from the seat in front of me. As a result, I don’t fly much anymore.
The airlines have to shoulder some blame for these fights.
