The recent flap over a D.C. public school assignment asking sixth-grade students to compare Adolf Hitler and President George W. Bush begs for a follow-up assignment (“D.C. Public Schools homework assignment asks 6th-graders to compare Bush to Hitler,” Web, Sept. 10).

How about a Venn diagram comparing the indoctrination methods of this teacher with those of Third Reich Minister of Propaganda Josef Goebbels? Democratic talking points, since the 2004 election, have created an alternative universe in science, history and culture. David Horowitz’s column “Why nice guys finish last in politics” (Web, Sept. 11) describes the unwillingness of Republican politicians to take the high ground rhetorically by making the low-down of the political left fair game for criticism.
