HARKERS ISLAND, N.C. (AP) - Openings for moonrise tours of the Cape Lookout National Seashore are going quickly.

The tours will be held Oct. 9, 10 and 11, with four 30-minute tours on each day starting between 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Ten tickets were available for each tour group.

Seashore officials say openings remain for the Oct. 10 tours only.



A ferry will leave Harkers Island at 6:30 p.m. for all the tours and return about 9 p.m. Those with tickets should arrive no later than 6:10 p.m.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are non-refundable unless the trip is canceled for safety issues such as high wind or lightning. To make a reservation, call 252-728-2250, extension 3020.

Tickets are $23 for adults, $19 for seniors and access pass holders and $12 for children.
