NEW YORK (AP) — Officials say families living in New York City public housing will be able to visit the American Museum of Natural History free of charge through May.

The City Council-funded Family Science Program will allow Housing Authority residents with children ages 4 to 10 to take advantage of exhibitions, workshops and interactive activities.

The program will be available on Saturdays through the month of May.

The Daily News (https://nydn.us/1taYECe ) says the City Council allocated more than $114,000 in the fiscal year 2015 budget to cover the cost of the program.

The program kicked off on Saturday.

Regular admission to the museum is $12.50 for children 2 to 12 and $22 for adults.
