UPDATE: TLC has canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” after learning June Shannon is dating a convicted child molester, TMZ is reporting.

Earlier, TLC said it was reassessing its popular “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” series after it was revealed that Ms. Shannon, aka “Mama June,” is dating a convicted child molester.

Ms. Shannon’s new boyfriend, 53-year-old Mark McDaniel, was convicted in 2004 for forcing oral sex on an 8-year-old child. He served 10 years and was released in March, TMZ reported.

Ms. Shannon was reportedly dating Mr. McDaniel at the time of the molestation and only rekindled their romance recently. The child was a relative of Mama June’s, TMZ reported.

TLC said in a statement to TMZ: “TLC is not currently in production on HERE COMES HONEY BOO BOO. We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”

The show, which wrapped up its fourth season in August, follows Ms. Shannon’s 9-year-old daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson; Alana’s father, “Sugar Bear” Mike Thompson; as well as her three sisters and niece, who was born in the first season.
