A California woman had to be doused with dishwashing liquid and hoisted out of a chimney that belongs to a man who broke up with her after a couple of dates.

Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, 28, was found inside the chimney of a Thousand Oaks home after residents reported hearing a woman crying in the area at about 5:45 a.m. Deputies found Ms. Nunez-Figueroa trapped inside the chimney, a local ABC affiliate reported.

The woman was eventually lifted from the structure and transported to a hospital for evaluation. Lawrence, who lives at the home and did not want to reveal his last name, said he met Ms. Nunez-Figueroa online and went on a few dates with her, but had recently ended the relationship, the station reported.

Lawrence said he spotted Ms. Nunez-Figueroa on his roof just two weeks ago, but she disappeared after he called police.

“I’m going to be a little more cautious of who I invite into my house now,” he said.

Ms. Nunez-Figueroa was arrested for illegal entry and providing false information to a peace officer, the station reported.
