SHINNSTON, W.Va. (AP) - Several bed and breakfasts in West Virginia are providing free rooms to honor active military and veterans.

The West Virginia Bed and Breakfast Association says 27 properties are offering free rooms on Monday in observance of Veterans Day.

Each participating location is making at least one room available on Monday night and availability is limited to a first-come, first-serve basis. Valid military identification is required. Reservations need to be made directly with the participating inns.

Kathleen Panek, owner of the Gillum House in Shinnston, says the hospitality businesses want to thank members of the armed forces with a good night’s rest.
