Nearly five million people visit the Grand Canyon every year, but they might pay more to do so in 2015.

The National Park Service said 115 of its 401 park units — including the Grand Canyon — may hike entrance fees next year.

The Associated Press reported Friday that the per-vehicle fee for a visit to the mile-deep canyon may jump from $25 to $30 for a seven-day pass.

The Grand Canyon is 277 river miles long and up to 18 miles wide. Any hike in entrance fees would be used for repairs of visitor exhibits and and maintenance of parks, AP reported.
