Although it’s not required in Maryland, I showed my driver’s license to the poll worker when I went to vote Tuesday. I urge other voters to do the same in all elections.

Showing ID before voting shows that you are indeed the person listed in the registry, and it makes a statement that you are a firm believer in voter ID. After all, there are many venues in which one must present ID when requested. Voting in primary and general elections, which I consider a duty as well as a privilege, should be one.
