A reporter for Xinhua News Agency says he and his news crew were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night by a group of Ferguson rioters who then set his car ablaze.

Marcus DiPaola said he and his crew were recording a report near Michael Brown’s memorial around 7:30 p.m. when 15 to 20 people rushed them and demanded they stop filming, The New York Times reported.

One suspect pointed a gun at a videographer’s head, Mr. DiPaola said.

“Rioting ’protesters’ burned down my car after carjacking me and putting a pistol to my videographer’s forehead,” he tweeted Wednesday morning.

Mr. DiPaola said the news crew abandoned the Toyota Prius at the scene and walked until a church van delivering Thanksgiving turkeys stopped to give them a ride, The Times reported. None of the journalists was reportedly hurt.

“All reporters: PLEASE DO NOT GO TO CANFIELD MEMORIAL. Was attacked and robbed at gunpoint,” he tweeted Tuesday.
