CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A storm sweeping up the East Coast is expected to blanket New Hampshire with its first significant snowfall of the season.
State transportation crews used Tuesday’s warm, dry weather to button up construction projects ahead of the storm and one day before Wednesday’s busy Thanksgiving travel.
Snow totals from a few inches to up to a foot in some places are expected as the storm moves in Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service predicts the heart of the storm will start around 1 p.m. then begin to taper off after midnight.
Some schools were planning to close early Wednesday.
Bill Boynton, a state Department of Transportation spokesman, says the state’s 700-plus plows are ready to roll. He says the best advice for travelers is to allow more travel time.
