PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices have fallen another 3 cents in Rhode Island in the last week ahead of the heavily traveled Thanksgiving holiday.

The latest price survey from AAA Southern New England found the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve in Rhode Island is $2.95. That’s 20 cents lower than a month ago. Despite the decline, the current local price is still 14 cents more per gallon than the national average of $2.81.

Drivers in Rhode Island were paying 48 cents more, or an average of $3.43 a gallon, a year ago at this time.

The AAA survey, released Monday, found a 30-cent range in prices, from a low of $2.82 to a high of $3.12 per gallon.
