DENVER (AP) — Individual insurance sign-ups under Colorado’s health care exchange are running ahead of pace from a year ago, when the marketplace opened for the first time.

Connect For Health Colorado announced Monday that more than 6,000 health and dental insurance plans were sold in the first full week of enrollment for 2015. That’s way ahead of the 240 or so who signed up in the first week last year, when the exchange was new.

Connect For Health attracted about 150,000 customers in its first year and wants to reach a total of 200,000 this time around.

Of the enrollments so far this year, about 4,400 were returning customers.

The deadline for enrolling in coverage that takes effect Jan. 1 is Dec. 15.
