A terrorist attack on an Egyptian naval vessel on Wednesday left eight servicemen missing in the Mediterranean.

“Search and rescue operations have evacuated five wounded servicemen to a military hospital … and there are still eight personnel lost and the search continues,” the Egyptian military said in a statement, Agence France Presse reported.

The statement added that four boats were used in the attack. All four boats were destroyed and 32 individuals aboard were killed, AFP reported.

The attack occurred roughly 45 miles from Egypt’s shore.
