BRISTOL, Va. (AP) - Virginia Intermont College has laid off nearly 100 workers.
The move Thursday at the struggling small private college came three days after school President Clorisa Phillips resigned.
Interim president Art Rebrovick says the school is in the process of disbursing back pay to employees and loan refunds to students. About 20 people continue working at the campus.
The Bristol Herald Courier (https://tinyurl.com/neutbnw) reports the college is in the process of ceasing operations in the wake of financial problems and the impending loss of its accreditation on July 1.
