ROXBURY, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a small plane has crash-landed in upstate New York, injuring the pilot.

Troopers say the accident happened early Friday afternoon in the Delaware County town of Roxbury.

Photos from the scene show a blue single-engine, two-seater with World War II vintage Navy markings upright in a clearing near a tree line. Its landing gear were down and propeller sheared off.

Authorities didn’t initially say how seriously the pilot was injured or release his name. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital.

Witnesses tell the Daily Star of Oneonta (https://goo.gl/lvG7SY ) the aircraft was flying low over town with the gear down and “didn’t sound right.”

Roxbury is 47 miles southwest of Albany.
