WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania man has pleaded not guilty to charges in what authorities characterize as the road rage death of a pedestrian.

The (Wilkes-Barre) Times-Leader (https://bit.ly/1mJXhod ) reports that 23-year-old Lorenzo Burgos pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday in Luzerne County Court.

Burgos is charged with homicide, reckless endangerment and reckless driving in the August death of 42-year-old Fred Kleman Jr. in Plymouth.

Police said the victim saw Burgos approaching at high speed as a child was crossing the street and yelled at him to slow down. Authorities allege that Burgos returned and struck Kleman, then got out and threatened to kill him.

Investigators said Burgos told them he planned to speed toward the victim and then stop abruptly to intimidate him, but couldn’t stop in time.
