BELLE CHASSE, La. (AP) - Plaquemines Parish officials say they are investigating the appearance of racist images on the batture of the Mississippi River at Belle Chasse.

A release from the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office says they got the report Monday. A rope with a noose at the end of it was hanging from a willow tree. Two white Ks were spray painted on the tree and the words “white power” were written on a nearby cement embankment.

The Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating along with the FBI.
