FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) - A Fort Dodge woman has been arrested in connection to a stabbing death.

The Fort Dodge Police Department says 24-year-old Vanita Briann Daniels was taken into custody Friday. She faces a felony charge of voluntary manslaughter. Court records do not list an attorney for her.

Police believe Daniels is linked to the Friday morning stabbing of 19-year-old Marcquis Dewain Collier, also of Fort Dodge. Daniels was reportedly stabbed in the chest and found in a front yard. He later died at a local hospital.

Daniels remains at the Webster County Jail. A court appearance is scheduled Saturday.
