INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A central Indiana man who was driving a pickup truck that struck and killed two highway construction workers has become the second member of his family involved in a roadway tragedy.
The pickup truck’s driver, 22-year-old Jordan Stafford of Fortville, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries after Friday’s deadly crash along Interstate 69 that killed two state contractors working along that highway.
Stafford is the son of Fortville Clerk-Treasurer Marcie Stafford.
Fortville Town Manager Joe Renner tells The Indianapolis Star (https://indy.st/1ghZRxK ) that Stafford’s 19-year-old son died in a December 2012 collision with a state highway dump truck.
In that crash, Logan Stafford ran a Hancock County stoplight and drove into the path of an Indiana Department of Transportation truck. He died at a local hospital.
