CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A teacher at a Charlotte middle school has been removed from her class after officials said she threatened her students.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokesman Brian Hacker would not provide details about what he called a “verbal threat” by a seventh-grade teacher at Whitewater Middle School late Thursday morning.

Principal Valarie Williams removed the teacher and reported the incident to the human resources department. The teacher’s name has not been released.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating.

Williams says no student was injured.
