GRANT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say the body of man was found in the fire-charred remains of a home in Michigan’s northwestern Lower Peninsula.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle and WPBN-WTOM report that the Thursday fire in Grand Traverse County’s Grant Township was suspicious. Investigators say the condition of the body made it impossible to identify, so DNA tests are being conducted.

The blaze is one in a series of suspicious fires reported in the area during the past couple years.
