SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Bail has been reduced for Kenan Adams-Kinard, one of two teenagers accused of beating a World War II veteran to death in Spokane last August.
A Spokane judge on Friday agreed with the defense that $3 million for the 16-year-old’s bail was just too high, especially considering his minimal criminal history. Bond was reduced to $1 million.
Police contend Adams-Kinard and 16-year-old Demetrius Glenn punched and beat 88-year-old Delbert Belton to death last year. The death outraged the community.
Adams-Kinard and Glenn are each charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. They could face life in prison if convicted.
