ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An autopsy report shows a 12-year-old Albuquerque boy killed in February had broken skull and facial bones, internal bleeding and various other injuries all over his body.

A teenage friend of Alex Madrid has been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1npxBky) the autopsy report released Thursday shows Madrid suffered puncture wounds to his head.



There also was bleeding and swelling of his brain, internal bleeding into his right lung, pancreas, left adrenal gland, outer surfaces of the stomach and esophagus.

The cause of death was listed as blunt trauma and the manner of death was homicide.

The 15-year-old suspect still is being held in the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center. His attorney says she doesn’t believe her client is competent to stand trial.
