KILLEEN, Texas (AP) - Two police officers in the Central Texas town of Killeen have been hospitalized after being shot while serving a search warrant at an apartment.
Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith says a man and woman inside the apartment opened fire on the officers early Friday morning. Both have been taken into custody.
The officers were taken to nearby Scott & White Hospital in Temple where one was in critical condition while the other was in good condition.
Smith said two other officers were also struck in the shooting, but were spared injury by their protective gear.
