ADRIAN, Mich. (AP) - Two people were hurt in a shooting at an Adrian park named for a pair of ministers who worked to stem neighborhood violence.

Police say one person was shot and another fell onto some pavement during the attack Thursday evening at Bob and Harriet Parish Park, formerly Erie Street Park.

The Daily Telegram reports the Parishes were ordained ministers and community advocates who helped found the East Side Coalition after violence flared in their neighborhood.

According to police, a sport utility vehicle pulled up, and someone inside began firing at people gathered in the park.

WLEN-FM says three suspects took off after the shooting. Police found their SUV, but they haven’t yet found the suspects.
