WAPELLO, Iowa (AP) - County supervisors in southeast Iowa have approved the site of a monument that would honor six brothers killed during the Civil War.

Louisa County supervisors met Tuesday to discuss the future site of a monument that will honor the Littleton brothers.

The site will be in Toolesboro, located alongside the Mississippi River. The Burlington Hawk Eye reports (https://bit.ly/1jlPP3M ) the siblings’ family lived in Toolesboro during the war.

A committee tasked with helping to build the monument says members will meet in May to review a preliminary design. A final one should be completed this summer.
