PLAQUEMINE, La. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies say a 22-year old Plaquemine man has been arrested in the shooting death of 26-year-old Kye Boudreaux.
When Boudreaux’s boat was spotted around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday drifting in the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway near the Jack Miller boat landing in Plaquemine, his family went to look for him.
Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1j3m7LN ) his parents discovered his body at 8:30 a.m. at the family’s campsite near Grand River. Boudreaux had been shot in the head
Eight hours later, Stassi says Detrell Scott was arrested.
The sheriff said Scott told investigators that Boudreaux had allowed him to tag along Wednesday morning as he fished along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Scott was booked armed robbery and first-degree murder.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
