PHOENIX (AP) - A federal jury in Phoenix has convicted a former tax preparer of wire fraud, false statements and identity theft.

Internal Revenue Service officials announced Wednesday that Latoya Nivea Morehead, of Avondale, was found guilty after a three-week trial.

Jurors deliberated for about three hours before finding Morehead guilty on all 43 counts.

Her sentencing is scheduled for July 30.

Morehead was indicted in the case in September 2012.

Prosecutors say she worked as a tax preparer at various companies.

She was accused of failing to report income on her own tax returns and using personal and financial information of former clients to prepare returns.

Prosecutors say the former clients never received any tax refunds.
