TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in Tempe say they’ve arrested a man accused of buying and selling stolen bicycles.

Tempe police say they received information that 46-year-old Rey Genaro Aguilar allegedly was purchasing and then selling stolen bicycles, many of which were being transported to Mexico.

Detectives served a search warrant at Aguilar’s home Tuesday and reported finding more than 50 bikes and bicycle parts.

Police say Aguilar told them he purchased about 20 bicycles a week for $15 to $100 apiece and knew they were probably stolen.

They say Aguilar is being held on suspicion of trafficking in stolen property. It wasn’t immediately clear Wednesday if he has a lawyer.

Police say they’re trying to identify the owners of the recovered bicycles.
