HOBBS, N.M. (AP) - A 15-year-old is facing charges after police say he brought a pellet gun to Hobbs High School and waved it in the parking lot.
The Hobbs News-Sun reports (https://goo.gl/9S5jwx) that the teen was charged Monday with unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school premises.
According to police reports, witnesses told a school resource officer a group of teens were waving a gun in the school’s parking lot near a black Chevy pickup. The officer says she saw a male juvenile standing on the passenger side of the truck and waving a long black gun in the air.
Officers later found the gun in the truck.
The search placed the school on temporary lockdown.
The teen was booked without bond before seeing a judge and being released to his parents.
