PHILIPPI, W.Va. (AP) - Philippi’s City Council has approved an agreement allowing the police department to help other law enforcement agencies in Barbour County during emergencies.
Under the mutual aid agreement, the Philippi Police Department would provide manpower and assistance to the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department and Belington Police Department during emergencies. Those agencies would provide assistance to Philippi’s department during emergencies.
All three agencies would help the Junior Police Department, which has two part-time officers but no police chief.
