RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles wants to set up a new driver license office in Dare County to better serve the northeastern coast.
A statement from the division said it’s been determined that a brick-and-mortar location will offer more reliable service than continuing the current mobile unit services.
The division considers area population and growth, and distance to other nearby driver license offices in establishing office locations.
The State Property Office has posted a proposal request on its website and describes the office requirements. The lease requires about 2,320 square feet of office space for a five-year term with renewal options.
Possession date for the space is Aug. 1 or as soon thereafter as possible. Proposals are due no later than 4 p.m. on May 20.
