CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Polling places across North Carolina are closed, bringing an end to voting in state and national races.

Voters were greeted by sunny skies and warm temperatures across the state.

Despite the weather, turnout is expected to mirror the figures of 2010, when 14 percent of North Carolina’s registered voters cast ballots.
