CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (AP) - State police say a small plane had to make an emergency landing in a central Pennsylvania field, but the pilot wasn’t injured.

Police in Franklin County said the plane experienced engine trouble at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday near Chambersburg Airport in Greene Township.

The pilot told emergency officials that he was flying at about 4,000 feet when the single-engine plane lost power.



Fire officials said the plane landed safely in a field on the 2900 block of Airport Road. They said the plane wasn’t damaged and the pilot wasn’t injured.

The name of the pilot wasn’t released.
