LEWES, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged a man with vehicular assault and fourth offense DUI after a two-car crash in Lewes.

It happened about 9:15 p.m. Monday on John J. Williams Highway. Troopers say 56-year-old David Esch of Lewes was traveling east when he suddenly pulled into the westbound lane.

Police say Esch’s car collided head on with a car driven by 47-year-old Raymond Trolan of Millsboro.

Officers say Esch was treated and released at a local hospital. Police say Trolan was admitted to the hospital with a severe leg injury.

Esch is charged with fourth offense driving under the influence of alcohol, vehicular assault and several traffic offenses.
