HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Four reputed gang members have been arrested in a shooting that left a Fairview man dead in his apartment.
Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said Tuesday that 50-year-old Jeronimo Lopez was hosting an illegal card game Saturday night when several men armed with firearms walked in. The gunmen then robbed about a dozen people who were in the apartment, getting $1,800 overall and several pieces of jewelry.
The Record (https://bit.ly/RkXLY1) reports the victims were ordered to lie on the floor and hand over their possessions. Several were pistol-whipped, and authorities don’t believe that Lopez resisted the robbers.
Lopez was shot once in the abdomen around 10:30 p.m. and died a short time later at a hospital.
The four suspects face various charges, including felony murder, armed robbery and weapons offenses.
