CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Individuals and couples from each New Hampshire county are being honored for their outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of the state’s senior citizens.

The annual Joseph D. Vaughan Awards were created in 1962 and are being presented Monday at the Statehouse.

The recipients were chosen by the State Committee on Aging and a group called EngAGING NH. New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Nicholas Toumpas will join Gov. Maggie Hassan in presenting the wards.
