LOGAN, W.Va. (AP) - A fire official says firefighters didn’t find any smoke detectors at the scene of a fatal blaze in Logan County.

Logan Fire Chief Scott Beckett says a woman died Sunday morning after the fire broke out at her mobile home in the Logan area.

Beckett tells media outlets that the victim used a walker. He says a smoke detector might have alerted her in time to escape the fire.

The West Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office identified the victim as 57-year-old Mary Bryant.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
