RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Federal authorities say a Raleigh man has pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography.
U.S. Attorney Thomas Walker said 31-year-old Paul Fantz pleaded guilty at his arraignment in federal court on Monday.
An investigation showed Fantz tried to videotape a child in the men’s restroom at the N.C. State Fair last October. After questioning by Wake County sheriff’s deputies, Fantz admitted to the violation. He was arrested and a search warrant was obtained for his cellphone and laptop.
A forensic examination found at least 100 videos of boys urinating. Another 100 videos of child pornography were found on the laptop.
Fantz faces up to 20 years in prison when he’s sentenced in September. Any prior convictions related to sex abuse or pornography increases the length of the sentence.
