TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (AP) - A teenager has been charged with murder in the death of a Taylorsville woman last month.
Bryan Quintanilla also was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with robbery and burglary in the death of 59-year-old Margaret Steffey.
Police found her body at the home April 16 after they responded to a missing person report.
According to court documents, her debit card was used from April 11-19 to withdraw more than $1,500. Investigators say surveillance videos linked the 18-year-old Quintanilla to the withdrawals.
The teen was arrested April 19 only hours before he was to leave on a flight from Salt Lake City to El Salvador.
According to the medical examiner, Steffey died from a combination of blunt force trauma, suffocation and strangulation.
