CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - Two California men have been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer after two deputies were attacked, sending one to the hospital.
Sgt. Ray Kelly of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department said the deputies responded late Saturday to a call at an apartment complex, finding a woman who was bloody.
The deputies saw two men fighting and tried to stop them, when Kelly said they were attacked by the brawlers and the injured woman.
Kelly tells KTVU-TV (https://bit.ly/1jt7BRW ) that one of the attackers appeared to be well trained in martial arts.
One deputy was punched, breaking a bone in his face. The two men put the second deputy in a headlock.
The deputies regained the upper hand using a stun gun, arresting both men and the woman.
