FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A northeastern Indiana man has been charged with murder in an alleged drunken driving crash that killed a teenage girl.

Allen County prosecutors charged 35-year-old Jeremy Washington of New Haven on Friday in the March death of 17-year-old Haley M. Nellum. He’ll appear in court Monday on the charge.

Washington had already faced charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, reckless homicide and causing death while operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The Journal Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1rurfDd ) that authorities say Washington was traveling at 103 mph when he crashed into a car driven by Nellum, a Bishop Dwenger High School sophomore. Court records say the impact caused Nellum’s to flip over multiple times, killing her.

Police say Washington had fired a gun into a SUV outside a bar shortly before the crash.
